I have been charged with the task of bringing "Access to H.E - Art & Design" into the 21st century.... So my students will be doing the Graphic Design brief "creative Imaging" on blogs, the brief itself has not changed - only the word's "Graphic Design" have been replaced (theoretically) with "on the web", it could be "web design" but with my students having limited time/resources actual web design is beyond what is needed.... what is needed is the student needs to realise the importance of the internet in this information hungry age we live in....
What the (art) student must understand is the negative effect NOT being an active member of a massive world (based around the sharing of knowledge) that a lot of “younger” students are already a part of.... Having said that the students who are already “there” and are connected by pocket and laptop need to know that there is more to Facebook than likes & pokes.....
Each of my posts on this blog will be titled with an “Assessment Critiria” these “Ass Crits” (AC) are the shining beacon that now governs their academic works..... One of the issues I will face is keeping track on these various blogs and posts so that they look like a working scrapbook that can be easily looked at by others (think external moderator) – this is why an organised set of files is needed – I am typing this up on a presentation document and will be copying (after spellcheck) on to my blog....
