Acer one Bristol graffiti artist
This is a little strange for me as during my research i found that me and the particular Artist (who i have referenced before) went to college with - i cant remember his artwork then but he was a good black jack player..... I'm interested in the way he comes across online...
As you can see his name is very similar to a computer company - entering his name alone gives you a list of computers for sale - adding our home town should give you those computers for sale in that area but no the top 8 results all him... That is some serious search engine optimisation (SEO).... Especially as i can see no .com,0 are there any fee paying pages at all...?

Acer1 has a very simple "online portfolio", the profile starts with a welcome & introduction then goes straight into a great quote from Joseph Campbell which reinforces his connection to pseudonyms, sub cultures & "the Bristol street art/Graffiti movement" (covered his bases there), but then has his real name in brackets because although he has a part in this culture he is also a "serious" (fine?) artist.....
Fro the top set of clickable text "Follow me" has Blog - similar high quality photographs, also the same colour scheme, Flickr link (images stored here) Twitter & "Creative Arts" which takes you to a plain white blog called " Luke Palmer Arts - people and creativity, research and reflection" which as the title suggests is a more personal account of his daily/everyday comings and goings - unfortunately this blog seems a little abandoned, it is however only a small link that the majority of people will never actually read.
The main tabs to navigate, Starting with Profile, are highlighted with a yellow box (yellow text are all hyperlinks), Current - the 3x3 photo grid structure stays - the actual photo change, each can be enlarged (& shared) individually - these show certain works in situ in gallery space, the text column also changes to explain the images in a narrative way. Paintings - same as Current except the photographs include murals and the whole set can be advanced to show more work. Photography - same grid - new quote, lots of photograph's showing areas of "the city" and statues double exposed with added (layered?) light trails - very busy scenes - much like his paintings.....
Overall this site and its SEO give the impression of a professional, contemporary Artist, with his finger on the pulse of a growing artistic sub culture. I think the colour scheme fits well with his persona although it seems to scream photographer rather than artist.... m

james jean.com
Well what can be said, James jean is an artist/illustrator - his page is super plain - his name followed by 7 "buttons" - Work, sketch, bound, object, blog, about and the "obligatory" store... Each open to a slide show which is navigated with the use of a tim line which is really organised... The main thing that i have noticed about the site is the distinct lack of words, the timeline is full of titles but thats it, no conversation.... Even the biography section is a slide show of photo's, with dates, starting with the house (above) which i am guessing is his family home...... or is it - even with a "real" name he still manages to pull of anonymity...
jamesjean.com i suggest you have a look yourself

1.2
After many hours picking and poking at peoples Facebook accounts i am packing this all in and starting a career as an internet "psycic" because a, it is actually a thing and b, i think i can do a good job now of characterising people based on their profile pic, cover photo combinations.....
Before that all kicks off, i have been looking if i can find a pattern in peoples websites, and it seems there is some... i will try and outline what i have noticed....
saizenmedia.com/nightwishsite This site is stunning is a flash based site - which means it was created in Adobe flash, which is slowly becoming less and less popular as HTML5, Css3 and resources like jquiry & java have improved greatly.... This is more of a online showcase - all of his information is there, it is just buried beneath growing tree's and flying books... It also has a soundtrack which when you switch off just leaves you with the sounds of birds. The main problems with this site is it is not very accessable - slower computers will spend time loading it, and most tablets/smart phones will also struggle - if they can view it at all (iphones don't do Flash...)

1.1_part2
For the purposes of this brief we need to move away from the Social side of the internet.... Or do we....
The aim of the rehash of the brief is to make the student look at where they can fit on the web... & I think it all comes down to how you would like to be portrayal.. The first question I would ask someone who would like to get themselves a “web presence” is do you have money? If the answer is no then a .com (.co.uk) address is out of the question so hold on to your all singing all dancing website ideas.... with limited knowledge of the internets inner workings putting up cover photo/profile pic or choosing from template is about as much “web designing” as we will get to do.... but don't dismiss it completely.....
These screen shots are from four individuals who use the internet to gain exposure, to communicate and to even sell their work.... two of these artist make real money(& have .com addresses) whilst the other two do not.... it is hard to tell who is who until they get down to content..... The look is forcably uniform, the structure does not change only the content of cover photo & profile picture is different & personal....
There can be a lot more to the simple Facebook profile pic/cover photo combo..

The first thing I see when I open my computer or phone is a piece of my art work.... Most people don't leave it with the imagery is comes with, they personalise it with photographs of holidays or loved ones, or their favourite quote in a script font on a photograph of a fury kitten.....
After that it is on to the reason I opened said phone/computer.... Social Media....
Here we have four SM sites – Facebook, Google+, twitter and the up & coming ello....
They all go to prove (especially ello) that on the net content is key – These sites are geometric grid structures in bland colours – you wouldn't think twice about logging in if it wasn't full of user generated content.... in fact the SM site does very little other than host, administrate, advertise.... “they” have no real interaction.... If users were to stop uploading images & video SM sites would be a bleak place...

Brief_(mobile post)
Just a quick photo & post - blogger app... The brief and it's distinctive "A.C's" in their natural habitat - notice it's pristine condition - this one has never met with its usual fate of being defaced by a deranged student. ....
